Buddy Baker loved to fish, as did his father, Braxton T. Baker (glasses and pipe) and father-in-law, Lester McCaslin. Hunting was a shared pastime- quail, pheasant, ducks, geese and doves.
The one form of hunting that remained for Buddy into his later years was fly fishing. He found fly fishing more artful as well as humane- with a more appealing catch-and-release ethic, without the interior damage to the fish caused by bait or spinners.
Buddy’s life as an outdoorsman gave him an appreciation of nature and conservation, which he expressed with ongoing donations to The World Wildlife Fund, Trout Unlimited, and The Cousteau Society.
