Nancy Ann Baker died, on April 24th, 2007 in a hospital in Greeley, Colorado, six years after discovering ovarian cancer.
There were probably two main reasons Nancy Baker endured six punishing years of chemo after learning of her diagnosis: 1. To stick around long enough to say “hello” to each of her grand children, and 2. To stick around long enough to say “goodbye” to her mother, Lucille, whom she and Buddy were caring for in Greeley.
Lucille died a few months before her daughter Nancy in the same hospice wing of a Greeley, Colorado hospital at the age of 97.
Nancy’s difficult passing brought sad relief, but the light she brought to her children, grandchildren and the world around her continues to shine. Her steady cheerfulness, lightness of spirit and kind stance towards others will live on forever in her family.
“Bloom where you’re planted” — Nancy Ann Baker
